What types of linings should I use?

In most cases we use lining and interlining. Interlining gives drapes a rich luxurious look, and also helps protect fabric from sun and light damage. We recommended interlining in most treatments especially light fabrics such as silk. Other linings would be black out lining which would darken the room. Thermal lining gives some protection but also insulates the room from heat or cold.

How long should my draperies be, should they touch or should they break?

When it comes to the length of draperies, there are three choices.

• To the floor - this would be about 1/2 inch off the floor
• Break on the floor - this would be about 1 to 3 inches breaking on the floor
• Puddle – this would anywhere from 6 to 20 inches of fabric on the floor We also can make the draperies puddle to the floor by using rings and cording in the back of the panels.

What type of pleat should I use?

We have many pleats to choose from, you can view these by clicking on the Pleat Style Tab on Tres Joli Designs website. If side panels are being used you can go with any pleat type you choose. If you were using draw draperies, a Euro Pleat or Pinch Pleat would be the best choice. As this lessens the amount of space, you will need for stacking.
